Registered Psychologist

The Inner Work Practice

Heather Fox

Hi, I’m Heather — a psychologist, partner, and mum. I support adults who are navigating challenges like anxiety, depression, relationship stress, identity concerns, and the often-complex emotions that come with parenthood.

My therapeutic style is warm, curious, and respectful. I’ll meet you where you are and walk alongside you as we work toward meaningful change. I’m especially interested in helping people uncover and shift the deeper patterns that shape their lives. I draw on Schema Therapy, EMDR, CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based approaches, and I’m passionate about creating space for greater self-understanding and lasting transformation.

Since becoming a mum myself, I’ve developed a special interest in supporting parents through the many transitions of early parenthood — finding balance between family, identity, and wellbeing. I believe therapy is most powerful when it feels safe and compassionate, and my hope is to provide a space where you feel truly heard, understood, and supported.

Being part of The Village Collective is deeply meaningful to me. I love contributing to a community where individuals and families can feel connected, resourced, and cared for.

  • I joined The Village Collective because I believe in the power of community. Having a “village” makes all the difference, and I love that this space offers exactly that, for families, parents, and practitioners alike.

  • “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players; they have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts.” – Shakespeare.

I love this quote because it reflects the complexity of human life and the different roles we all take on. At times, those roles can feel heavy, disconnected, or even inauthentic. In my work as a psychologist, I’m passionate about helping people move beyond just “playing a part” and instead discover ways to feel more true to themselves in the different chapters of their life.

  • I’m most passionate about helping people understand themselves on a deeper level and supporting meaningful change that lasts. Schema Therapy and EMDR allow me to work with the root causes of distress, not just the symptoms, which I find incredibly powerful and rewarding. I also have a strong interest in perinatal support, as I know firsthand how transformative and challenging this stage of life can be.

  • Good enough, is enough.

  • I’ve always been fascinated by people’s stories and the ways our past experiences shape our present lives. Becoming a psychologist felt like a natural path because it combined my curiosity about human behaviour with a desire to help others create lasting change.
