How to Feel Like Yourself Again in Motherhood Workshops April

The essential shifts to reclaim your sense of self, and return to calm, grounded connection.

This is Bree’s core workshop offering - a nourishing, reflective in-person experience designed to help mothers make sense of the inner shifts they’re experiencing as they move beyond the initial phase of motherhood.

As the early intensity of motherhood begins to ease, many women find themselves asking quiet questions about identity, purpose and how they want to live in this next chapter.

These workshop support mothers to understand why they’re feeling the way they do, and why these feelings are a natural part of motherhood - not a personal failing.

Together, participants unpack the subtle stories, expectations and assumptions that can shape motherhood without us realising it and that can pull women away from themselves and from fully enjoying this season. Bree then guides mothers through three identity-led shifts that support a return to calm, clarity and grounded connection - helping them feel more aligned, present and connected to who they are now.

Dates:

  • Sunday January 18, 3-5pm

  • Sunday April 19, 3-5pm

  • Sunday July 26, 3-5pm

  • Sunday November 29, 3-5pm

The Village Collective Mothers’ Group April

The Village Collective Mothers’ Group

Starts 20 April for 6 weeks.

Biology never intended for us to mother our babies on our own. Mothers deserve to be surrounded by others walking the path of early motherhood - sharing, connecting and supporting.

The Village Mothers’ Groups offer a nurturing and supportive environment for mothers and their babies aged 6 weeks to 9 months.

These six-week programs are designed to foster connection, provide education, and create a sense of community among new mothers.

Program Highlights:

Expert-Led Sessions: Each week features a different practitioner from The Village Collective, covering topics such as baby massage, sleep support, maternal wellbeing, and more.

Community Building: The groups are intentionally kept small (capped at 10 participants) to encourage meaningful connections. A private WhatsApp group is also established for continued support outside of sessions.

Relaxed Environment: Sessions include time for baby play and socialisation, as well as opportunities for mothers to enjoy tea, coffee, and snacks while sharing their experiences.

Holistic Support: The program is facilitated by professionals dedicated to supporting mothers, ensuring a comprehensive approach to early motherhood challenges.

The Village Mothers’ Groups aim to recreate the communal support traditionally found in village settings, recognizing that mothers thrive when surrounded by understanding and shared experiences.

Join us for a deeply calming Pregnancy Sound Bath & Restful Ritual, created to support you in slowing down, softening and connecting with both your body and your baby bump.

We’ll close our time together with a warm and grounding tea ceremony, offering space to slowly return, reflect and connect with others, leaving you feeling nurtured, replenished and deeply held.

What every woman should know about perimenopause & menopause workshop

Are you wanting to understand more about perimenopause and menopause?

Whether you’re experiencing symptoms, or feeling that you might be stepping into this time in your life and want to be educated and ready?

Then this is the perfect workshop to come and learn about all things perimenopause & menopause in a fun and relaxed way!

What’s included in the workshop:

This introductory session is your starting point for understanding perimenopause and menopause. You’ll receive clear, evidence-based information in a supportive down-to-earth environment. We’ll cover the essentials, answer common questions and help you feel more confident about what’s happening in your body.

What we’ll explore:

• What perimenopause and menopause actually are: The definitions, symptoms and how menopause is diagnosed

• Health changes and long-term considerations around the time of menopause

• Treatment options, including hormonal, non-hormonal and complementary approaches

• Understanding the risks and benefits of treatment options

• Common myths and misconceptions

• Lifestyle factors that can support your wellbeing

• A short Q&A at the end

What you’ll walk away with:

This is a foundation session designed to give you clarity, confidence, and practical knowledge. You will leave with a stronger understanding of your options and a clearer sense of direction. Many topics are introduced at a beginner level here, and we explore them in more depth in the follow-on session.

About your host

I’m Sharon Best, the founder of Menopause Nurse Out Loud. I’m a Registered Nurse, Midwife and Child & Family Health Nurse with over 30 years of clinical experience and I specialise in providing evidence-based education and supportive guidance for women navigating perimenopause and menopause. I created this service because I found that my own menopause journey was confusing, isolating, and at times overwhelming. Even with decades of healthcare experience, I found myself searching for clear and credible, objective and accurate information and also a space where I felt truly heard. I couldn’t help thinking that if my menopause journey was this challenging for me, there must be many other women out there who are feeling the same.

My work is grounded in evidence-based practice and supported by ongoing professional development through the Australasian Menopause Society (AMS), Jean Hailes for Women’s Health, and the International Menopause Society (IMS). I am deeply committed to helping women feel informed, validated, and supported.

The Birth Prep Workshop

The Birth Prep Workshop

Preparing Your Mind & Body for Birth

The Birth Prep Workshop is a unique, hands-on workshop designed for women and their birthing partners in their second and third trimester who want to feel strong in their body, calm in their mind and confident in their ability to birth - with a clear toolkit they (and their partner) know how to use.

This workshop bridges the gap between knowing about birth and feeling ready for it.

You’ll learn:

  • Exactly what exercises and movement to focus on in pregnancy

  • How to use breath, acupressure, and positioning to support your body

  • What’s happening physiologically during labour and how to work with it

  • Practical, proven tools you and your partner can confidently use during birth

It’s informative, empowering and genuinely fun.

A truly collaborative birth preparation experience

This workshop is guided by a collaborative team of experienced practitioners, bringing together their expertise in one cohesive, supportive session:

  • A Doula

  • A Midwife

  • An Acupuncture-trained midwife

  • A Mumsafe birth & postpartum exercise specialist

Rather than separate appointments or siloed information, everything is woven together — so you leave feeling physically prepared, mentally grounded, and reassured that your body knows what to do.

Not your typical antenatal class

This is not a sit-and-listen workshop.

You and your partner will move, practise, try the tools, ask questions, and feel it all in your body.

You’ll leave with:

  • Clarity (no more guessing what to do)

  • Confidence in your body

  • A partner who knows exactly how to support you

  • And a practical toolkit you can use in pregnancy and during labour

What we’ll cover

This workshop is intentionally structured into two clear sections so everything feels easy to understand, practise, and apply.

Section One: Preparing your mind & body for birth

(Pregnancy Preparation for Second & Third Trimester)

In this first session, you’ll learn how to prepare your body and nervous system during pregnancy, with tools you can continue using right up until labour begins.

You’ll be guided through:

  • Birth-supportive exercises and movement to build strength, mobility and endurance

  • Floor-based and birth ball exercises you can safely practise at home

  • Movement that supports:

    • Growing strength where your body needs support

    • Opening and mobility through the pelvis

    • Releasing tension in the hips, back and pelvic area

  • Understanding how your muscles adapt during pregnancy and prepare for birth

  • Simple, effective breathwork to support relaxation, calm and nervous system regulation

  • Birth preparation acupressure points (including partner practice) to support the body in the weeks leading into birth

This section gives you clarity around what to practise, why it matters, and how to move forward feeling supported rather than overwhelmed.

Section Two: Understanding birth & using these tools in labour

(Physiology, Movement, Acupressure & Labour Support)

This section begins by grounding you in what your body is doing during labour and how to work with it not against it.

You’ll explore:

  • A clear, reassuring understanding of the physiology of birth

  • How labour progresses and what supports it

  • The fear–tension–pain cycle, how it can impact labour and practical ways to avoid or soften it

From here, everything becomes practical and embodied.

You’ll then experience and practise:

  • A simple labour movement circuit, including:

    • Birth ball exercises

    • Key labour and resting positions

  • Partner support for movement, positioning and comfort

  • Using acupressure in labour for support and relief

  • How and when to use a TENS machine, including pad placement

  • Using a birthing sling / rebozo for comfort, release and support

  • Breath and mindset tools for staying grounded, focused and supported during intensity

This section helps everything come together so when labour begins, your body and mind recognise what to do.

You’ll be supported by a collaborative team

This workshop is held by a small, experienced team offering complementary support:

  • Kathryn (Doula) - guiding the flow, breathwork, labour tools, positions and confidence-building support

  • Midwife - providing clear, reassuring insight into birth physiology and what supports labour progress

  • Acudeedling Midwife - teaching acupressure for both pregnancy preparation and labour, including partner techniques

  • Birth & Postpartum Exercise Specialist - leading safe, effective movement to prepare the body for birth and support recovery-informed strength

What’s included

  • 2.5-hour small-group workshop

  • Hands-on practice with movement, breathwork, acupressure, birth ball, TENS machine & sling

  • Take-home resources you can continue using at home

  • Tea and light nourishment

  • Time for questions and personalised support

Ticket price - $155 per couple

The Cacao Grounded Hour - EFT & nervous system reset for mamas

The Cacao Grounded Hour is a gentle 60-minute workshop created for women, especially mothers, who feel mentally overloaded, stretched thin, or disconnected from their bodies.

This session combines ceremonial cacao with EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), grounding practices and guided reflection to support nervous system regulation and emotional release.

Together, we’ll slow the body down, soften the stress response and create space to let go of the mental load many women carry, often without realising how heavy it’s become.

You’ll be guided through:

  • A gentle cacao ceremony to support grounding and presence

  • EFT tapping to help calm the nervous system and release stored tension

  • Simple breath and body-based practices to bring you back into balance

  • Quiet reflection and intention-setting as you reset and reconnect

No prior experience with cacao or EFT is needed. This is a calm, supportive space where you’re invited to arrive exactly as you are.

You’ll leave feeling more settled in your body, clearer in your mind, and gently reconnected to yourself, with tools you can take into everyday life.

The Village Collective Mothers’ Group February

The Village Collective Mothers’ Group

Starts 9 February for 6 weeks.

About your host

I’m Sharon Best, the founder of Menopause Nurse Out Loud. I’m a Registered Nurse, Midwife, and Child & Family Health Nurse with over 30 years of clinical experience and I specialise in providing evidence-based education and supportive guidance for women navigating perimenopause and menopause.

How to Feel Like Yourself Again in Motherhood Workshops

How to Feel Like Yourself Again in Motherhood Workshops
