The Village Mothers’ Groups

Welcome to our 6-week program starting:

Monday 28th April 10am-12pm for 6 weeks

Biology never intended for us to mother our babies on our own. Mothers deserve to be surrounded by others walking the path of early motherhood - sharing, connecting and supporting.

We're excited to announce The Village Mothers’ Group; a six week course designed just for you and your bub (babies aged 6 weeks to 9 months).

Each week, we'll be joined by a different Collective Practitioner to share invaluable knowledge, provide support, and help you thrive as a mum. This will then be followed by time to connect, for babies to play and for you to have tea and share the ups and downs of motherhood.

  • Week 1 - Baby Massage and Self Massage by Postpartum Doula Kathryn Stoeman

    In our welcoming session to Mothers Group we open up the space to share our story and listen to others.

    Kathryn will also shares her knowledge and skills with you. Being able to use the techniques demonstrated in this session will provide you with tools for self massage with multiple benefits to your body.

    We will also run through some baby massage echniques to support relaxation, sleep and digestion.

  • Week 2 - Postpartum Nutrition Therapy

    Sam is a dietitian and nutritionist who focuses on Nutrition Therapy for the first 1000 day postpartum and will be joining us this week.

    We are not screened on our nutrition post birth which can lead to nutritional deficiencies going undetected delaying recovery and hormonal rebalancing.

    Sam will discuss the nutrients at risk, food sources to concentrate on. Sam will also share some incredibly nourishing postpartum recipes, tips and tools to support you in healing from the inside out.

  • Week 3 -Understanding baby cues and biology Midwife and IBCLC Harriet

    Harriet will facilitate discussions to help you get to know each other alongside information to help you understand your babies cues, sensory and developmental needs, and we can discuss holistic sleep or challenges in your parenting journeys so far.

    This session is guided by the groups individual needs.

  • Week 4 - Return to Exercise with Lisa Mitchell Training

    Lisa our incredible PT and return to exerise guru will be joining us this week. She will be taking us through pelvic floor exercises, breathworth and simple core exercises to help us feel strong as we continue to heal after having our babies!

  • Week 5 - Postpartum essentials: Recovering with herbs and nutrients with Maddie the Naturopath

    In this session we will explore essential herbs and nutrients to support postpartum recovery. Learn how to naturally nourish your body, promote healing and boost energy during this transformative time and as the winter months are coming closer.

    We’ll cover gentle yet effective herbal remedies, key minerals and pracitcal self-care tips designed specifically to enhance your recovery, balance hormones and support overall wellbeing .

  • Week 6 - Honouring your journey into motherhood with Mel Coach and women's circle facilitator and Doula Kathryn and Somatic Therapist Intan

    This session is all about YOU! We will start this beautiful session with a cocoa ceremony, followed by a sharing circle, journally and finish up with a restoratie mediation.

    You are going to feel so beautiful and restored from the inside out after this special session honouring your transformative journey into motherhood.

    • Capped group numbers of 10 to ensure an intimate group allowing more opportunity for meaningful connections

    • Members will be invited into a private WhatsApp Group to continue their conversations and connection outside of the Village

    • Clean and private space exclusive fo rour groups use with enough room for babies to free to move around and explore our Montessori inspired toys.

    • Facilitated by postpartum professionals dedicated to supporting mothers

    • Each week one of The Village Collective Practioners will be speaking and sharing their knowledge with the group

    • Additional resources will be sent via email after each session.

    • Baby play and mums catch up including complimentary snacks, water, coffee, or tea of your choice for the last 1/2 hour of every session.

  • Each weekly session is facilitated by different Collective practitioners covering different topics of their expertise and hosted by the either of the Founders of the Village Collective

    Harriet - IBCLC Lactation Consultant, Registered Child and Family Health Midwife and Holistic Sleep Consutant

    Kathryn - The Village Collective’s resident Doula and postpartum professional.

  • 6 sessions spaced across 6 weeks

    Each group is allocated a 2 hour time slot with 30-45 minutes of structured discussion led by a different Village Pracitioner.

    After our topics of conversation we have time to play, sip tea/coffee (provided) and work on th connections we hope for in Motherhood.

  • We currently are holding one group for

    • 6 weeks to 9 months

    Depending on demand, we hope to offer age groups for 0-3 months and 6-9 months along with both First Time Mother Groups and Second Time+ Mothers Groups in the near future.

  • We have capacity for ideally 8 Mothers with their babies in our Mothers Groups, with the absolute maximum being 10.

  • $210 for the 6 week course

    Casual or weekly payments are currently not offered for Mothers Groups.
