The Village Mothers’ Groups
A six-week program designed to foster connection, provide education, + create a sense of community among new mothers.
Biology never intended for us to mother our babies on our own. Mothers deserve to be surrounded by others walking the path of early motherhood - sharing, connecting and supporting.
The Village Mothers’ Groups offer a nurturing and supportive environment for mothers and their babies aged 6 weeks to 9 months.
These six-week programs are designed to foster connection, provide education, and create a sense of community among new mothers.
Program Highlights:
Expert-Led Sessions: Each week features a different practitioner from The Village Collective, covering topics such as baby massage, sleep support, maternal wellbeing, and more.
Community Building: The groups are intentionally kept small (capped at 10 participants) to encourage meaningful connections. A private WhatsApp group is also established for continued support outside of sessions.
Relaxed Environment: Sessions include time for baby play and socialisation, as well as opportunities for mothers to enjoy tea, coffee, and snacks while sharing their experiences.
Holistic Support: The program is facilitated by professionals dedicated to supporting mothers, ensuring a comprehensive approach to early motherhood challenges.
The Village Mothers’ Groups aim to recreate the communal support traditionally found in village settings, recognizing that mothers thrive when surrounded by understanding and shared experiences.

Week 1 - Baby Massage & Grounding Touch
With Postpartum Doula Kathryn Stoeman
Ease into the series with a calm, nurturing session. Kathryn will guide you through baby massage techniques to support bonding, digestion, and sleep — plus gentle self-touch practices for mums to soothe tension and reconnect with your own body. A slow and supportive start to your motherhood group journey.
-
Week 2 - Feeding, Sleep & Finding Your Rhythm
With Harriet - IBCLC Child Family Health Midwife
This week is an open, Q&A-style session where no question is too small. We'll cover the feeding-sleep connection, how to tune into your baby’s nervous system cues, and help you understand what’s biologically normal when it comes to feeding rhythms, sleep patterns, and daily routines.
Whether you're breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, pumping, or combination feeding — this is a safe space to ask questions, troubleshoot challenges, and feel more confident in reading and responding to your baby’s needs.
Come with questions or just come to listen — you’re welcome either way.
-
Week 3 - Baby Movement & Milestones
With Lily (Chiropractor)
This week we’ll explore how to support your baby’s physical development through gentle, everyday movement and body awareness. Lily will guide a relaxed session covering:
Tummy time without the tears
How to support natural milestone progression (like rolling, crawling, sitting)
Bodywork techniques you can safely use at home
What to look for if something feels “off” in your baby’s movement or posture
You’ll leave with practical, confidence-boosting tools to support your baby’s body in a way that feels gentle and responsive, using play, positioning and connection — not pressure.
-
Week 4 - Postpartum Self-Care, Nourishment & EFT Tapping
With Katie from Mineral & Grace + Kathryn from Mamma Nurture
This week focuses on reclaiming care for the mother.
Katie, from Mineral & Grace, will introduce Tapping (EFT) — a gentle, accessible technique that helps regulate the nervous system, ease emotional overwhelm, and bring calm to the chaos.
Kathryn, postpartum doula, will share her insights on realistic nourishment and self-care, offering simple, soul-supporting strategies that work in the real world of motherhood.
This session is your reminder that your wellbeing matters, and small, consistent acts of care for yourself ripple outward to your baby and family.
Expect calming energy, honest conversation, and space to breathe.
-
Week 5 - Mini Massage & A Moment to Receive
With Yvette from Little Relax Co + Kathryn
This week is your chance to pause, exhale, and be cared for. Each mum will be treated to a 15-minute massage with Yvette, our qualified remedial and pregnancy massage therapist from Little Relax Co, offering gentle, therapeutic touch to soothe tired bodies and busy minds. While you wait, Kathryn from Mamma Nurture will hold space with tea, quiet conversation, and optional grounding practices — creating a soft, welcoming environment where you can simply rest or connect at your own pace.
Please arrive on time so we can rotate everyone through for their treatment.
This week is about receiving — because you matter, too. -
Week 6 - Honouring the Motherhood Journey
In our final week together, we’ll slow down and reflect on everything you’ve moved through — the shifts, the stretch, the strength of early motherhood. Bree from Soul-Full, Matrescence Coach and space-holder for mothers, will guide a soft and supportive session that includes:
Gentle restorative movement (no yoga experience needed)
Journaling prompts to explore your story and inner transformation
Grounding tools to support nervous system care and emotional clarity
This session is about honouring your journey — not wrapping it up neatly, but making space to acknowledge your growth and everything you’re holding. Come as you are, and leave feeling grounded, seen, and supported.
A warm and heartfelt closing to your time in the Village Mothers Group.
