The Sick Sense Workshops are a hallf day workshop (approx 4.5 hours) and it’s so much more than your standard child First Aid course!
The workshop is led by Ilana a highly trained experienced Paediatric Nurse who has worked out of Westmead Children's Emergency and has over 13 years of experience .
The workshop is hands on and interactive with simultaions, scenarios, Paediatric nursing hacks and everyone goes home with a tool bag FULL of practical goodies along a summary email to reflect back on all you learnt.
Babies 6 months and under are welcome at the workshop and there are two prices one for couples and one for a single ticket. Every workshop is non judgmental, safe environment and any kind of feeding friendly and also includes a light lunch.
More about Ilana:
Ilana pursued her Nursing Degree and launched her career at Westmead Children’s Emergency Department in Sydney, where she honed her skills for eight years.
Returning to Lake Macquarie, she has since excelled in various roles within Hunter New England Health, including advanced practice positions as a Paediatric Clinical Nurse Consultant. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Nursing, a Master’s in Nursing - Advanced Practice; specialising in Paediatrics, independent Nurse Immunisation certification, and numerous specialised courses. Ilana’s commitment to paediatric nursing and her firsthand experience as a mother uniquely positions her to address the common anxieties and challenges faced by parents when their children are ill.
