The Birth Prep Workshop
Preparing Your Mind & Body for Birth
A Full-Day Birth Prep Workshop for You and Your Birth Partner
If you’re approaching birth and feeling unsure what to actually do when labour begins — you’re not alone.
Many parents leave antenatal education with information, but still feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or unsure how to apply it in the moment.
This workshop is designed to change that.
The Birth Prep Workshop is a hands-on, practical experience that helps you feel physically prepared, mentally grounded, and confident in your ability to navigate labour — with a partner who knows exactly how to support you.
Why this workshop matters
Birth is not just something you learn about — it’s something you move through, respond to, and experience in your body.
Understanding the process is helpful.
But practising the tools is what builds confidence.
This workshop bridges the gap between knowledge and readiness, giving you:
a clear understanding of what your body is doing during labour
practical ways to support that process
tools you’ve already practised before labour begins
a partner who feels confident, not unsure, in how to help
A collaborative, expert-led experience
You’ll be supported by a carefully selected team of practitioners from The Village Collective, each contributing their expertise to give you a well-rounded, supportive experience.
Doula Services at The Village Collective
Supporting you with breathwork, labour tools, positioning, and partner-based support strategies.
Lactation Consultant at The Village Collective
An IBCLC midwife with child and family health experience, helping you feel prepared for the early postpartum period and feeding.
MumSafe Personal Training at The Village Collective
Guiding safe, pregnancy-appropriate movement to build strength, mobility and birth readiness.
AcuNeedling at The Village Collective
Sharing acupressure techniques to support comfort, relaxation and physiological preparation for labour.
Rather than separate appointments or conflicting advice, everything is integrated into one clear, supportive session.
What you’ll actually do on the day
This is not a passive class.
You and your partner will actively practise the tools you’ll use in labour, so they feel familiar and achievable when the time comes.
You’ll learn and practise:
Movement and body preparation
birth-supportive exercises to build strength and endurance
pelvic mobility and positioning to support baby’s movement
floor-based and birth ball exercises you can continue at home
Breath and nervous system support
simple breathwork to reduce tension and support focus
ways to stay calm and grounded as intensity builds
Understanding labour
what is happening physiologically during labour
how labour progresses and what supports it
how to work with your body rather than against it
Hands-on labour tools
labour positions and movement sequences
partner support techniques for comfort and positioning
acupressure for pregnancy and labour
how to use a TENS machine (including pad placement)
using a rebozo or sling for comfort and release
Why partners love this workshop
One of the biggest concerns partners share is:
“I just don’t know what I’m supposed to do.”
This workshop gives partners a clear, active role.
They’ll leave knowing how to:
support positioning and movement
use touch, pressure and comfort techniques
guide and support breathwork
recognise what’s happening in labour and respond with confidence
Instead of standing on the sidelines, they become a calm, capable part of your support team.
What you’ll walk away with
By the end of the day, you’ll have:
a clear understanding of how to prepare your body for birth
practical tools you’ve already practised
confidence in your ability to navigate labour
a partner who feels prepared and involved
a simple, realistic plan for what to continue doing in the weeks leading up to birth
Who this workshop is for
This workshop is ideal if you:
are in your second or third trimester
want a practical, hands-on approach to birth preparation
feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice online
want your partner to feel confident and involved
prefer a supportive, evidence-informed approach without pressure or rigid rules
What’s included
full-day small group workshop (intentionally capped for a more personalised experience)
hands-on guided practice throughout the day
access to tools and equipment (birth balls, TENS machine, rebozo/sling)
take-home resources to support continued practice
tea and light nourishment
time for questions and individual support
What this workshop is (and isn’t)
This is:
practical
supportive
evidence-informed
focused on building confidence and real-world skills
This isn’t:
a lecture-style antenatal class
overwhelming or overly clinical
focused on one “right” way to birth
A gentle note
Every birth is unique.
This workshop doesn’t aim to control or predict your birth experience — it helps you feel more prepared, adaptable and supported no matter how your labour unfolds.
Ready to feel more prepared for birth?
If you’re wanting more than just information — and are looking for a calm, practical, confidence-building approach to birth preparation — this workshop is for you.
Book your place and come and experience it for yourself.
If you want next-level conversion, I can also add:
FAQs (what to bring, what to wear, refund policy, can I come alone, etc.)
urgency + scarcity sections (limited spots, waitlist wording)
pricing psychology (how to position value vs typical antenatal classes)
