About your host

I’m Sharon Best, the founder of Menopause Nurse Out Loud. I’m a Registered Nurse, Midwife, and Child & Family Health Nurse with over 30 years of clinical experience and I specialise in providing evidence-based education and supportive guidance for women navigating perimenopause and menopause. I created this service because I found that my own menopause journey was confusing, isolating, and at times overwhelming. Even with decades of healthcare experience, I found myself searching for clear and credible, objective and accurate information and also a space where I felt truly heard. I couldn’t help thinking that if my menopause journey was this challenging for me, there must be many other women out there who are feeling the same.

My work is grounded in evidence-based practice and supported by ongoing professional development through the Australasian Menopause Society (AMS), Jean Hailes for Women’s Health, and the International Menopause Society (IMS). I am deeply committed to helping women feel informed, validated, and supported.
