Meet Sam
Sam is a therapist specialising in Scar, Lymphatic, Fascial and Trauma Rehabilitation, helping people reconnect with their bodies following surgery, injury, illness or trauma.
Her journey began through personal experience, witnessing family members struggle with lymphoedema, vein oedema and scar tissue complications, and the challenges they faced finding the right support.
Determined to make a difference, Sam began exploring different therapeutic approaches, each one building on the next and deepening her understanding of the body and its recovery processes.
This eventually led her to develop her own specialised modality, Release Therapy, which brings together complementary hands-on techniques to support tissue mobility, lymphatic function and physical wellbeing.
Sam brings a gentle, individualised approach to her work, taking the time to listen, understand each person's experience and help them feel comfortable, supported and more connected to their bodies.
Who Sam Works with:
Sam supports people of all ages experiencing physical discomfort, restrictions or ongoing challenges following surgery, injury, illness or trauma.
Her areas of special interest include:
Scar tissue and adhesions – including post-surgical scarring and restricted tissue mobility.
Lymphoedema and vein oedema – supporting people experiencing swelling and lymphatic concerns.
Caesarean birth recovery – supporting women experiencing scar tissue restrictions, discomfort or changes in sensation following birth.
Cancer-related surgery and recovery – supporting people experiencing lasting physical changes following treatment.
Fascial restrictions and chronic tissue tension – helping improve comfort and freedom of movement.
Injury and trauma recovery – supporting people experiencing ongoing physical restrictions following accidents or other significant experiences.
Through her specialised Release Therapy, Sam uses gentle, hands-on techniques tailored to each person's individual needs.
She is also passionate about education, offering workshops and mentoring to help people and fellow practitioners develop a deeper understanding of the body and its recovery.
Why Sam loves this work
There isn't just one moment that makes me love what I do. It's the little breakthroughs that mean the most.
Seeing someone who has lived with pain, swelling or restricted movement for years begin to experience relief is incredibly rewarding.
It's the smile when someone realises they can move more freely, the emotion when they begin to reconnect with an area of their body affected by surgery or trauma, or simply hearing someone say, "I finally feel like someone understands what I'm going through."
I'm also incredibly proud of developing Release Therapy and now being able to share my knowledge through workshops and mentoring other practitioners.
Knowing that something which began with wanting to help my own family has grown into supporting so many others is something very special to me.
My philosophy is simple: Healing is a journey, not a race. Our bodies deserve patience, understanding and kindness, and I believe in working with the body, not against it.
