The Village Birth Prep Course
Preparing Your Mind & Body for Birth
A Full-Day Birth Prep Course for You and Your Birth Partner (9am-5pm) The next course will be run on 27th June, 8 August, 19 September, 31 October.
Led by a Home & Hospital Birth Midwife, Doula, Lactation Consultant and Pre & Postnatal PT, this workshop brings together a team of experienced practitioners who support families through pregnancy, birth and the early postpartum period every day.
If you're approaching birth and wondering what to actually do when labour begins, you're not alone.
Many parents leave antenatal education with information but still feel unsure how to apply it when the big day arrives.
The Birth Prep Workshop is designed to bridge that gap between knowledge and readiness, helping you feel physically prepared, mentally grounded and confident in your ability to navigate labour with a partner who knows exactly how to support you.
Why This Workshop Is Different
Birth is not just something you learn about, it's something you move through, respond to and experience in your body.
Understanding the process is important, but practising the tools is what builds confidence.
Together we'll help you:
Understand what your body is doing during labour
Learn practical ways to support the physiological birth process
Practise tools before labour begins
Help your partner feel confident and involved
What You'll Learn
Understanding Labour
What happens physiologically during labour
How labour progresses and what supports it
How to work with your body rather than against it
Movement & Body Preparation
Birth-supportive exercises to build strength and endurance
Pelvic mobility and positioning to support baby's movement
Floor-based and birth ball exercises you can continue at home
Breath & Nervous System Support
Simple breathwork to reduce tension and support focus
Ways to stay calm and grounded as intensity builds
Tools to support your nervous system during labour
Hands-On Labour Tools
Labour positions and movement sequences
Partner support techniques for comfort and positioning
Acupressure for pregnancy and labour
How to use a TENS machine, including pad placement
Rebozo and birth sling techniques for comfort and release
The Fourth Trimester
What to expect in the early days after birth
Understanding newborn feeding and sleep cues
How to support yourself and your baby during the transition into parenthood
Why Partners Love This Workshop
One of the most common things partners tell us is:
"I want to help, but I don't know what to do."
This workshop gives partners practical tools and a clear role in the birth space. They'll leave knowing how to support movement, comfort measures, breathwork and positioning, helping them feel calm, confident and involved throughout labour.
What's Included
Small-group workshop experience
Hands-on guided practice throughout the day
Access to birth balls, TENS machines, rebozos and slings
Take-home resources to continue practising at home
Tea and light refreshments
Time for questions and individual support
Who It's For
This workshop is ideal if you:
Are in your second or third trimester
Want a practical, hands-on approach to birth preparation
Feel overwhelmed by conflicting information online
Want your partner to feel confident and involved
Are looking for a supportive, evidence-informed approach without pressure or rigid rules
A Gentle Note
Every birth is unique.
This workshop isn't about controlling or predicting your birth experience. It's about helping you feel prepared, adaptable and supported no matter how your labour unfolds.
Ready to Feel More Prepared for Birth?
Join us for a practical, confidence-building day and leave with the knowledge, tools and support to approach birth feeling calm, prepared and empowered.

Carve Your Path: Boys Wellbeing Workshop
4 sessions 3 - 4pm on July 8th / 9th / 15th / 16th
A hands-on workshop supporting boys to build confidence, emotional awareness, and respectful relationships—through carving, connection, and guided conversation.
At the moment, our plan is to have this series held in the school holidays (4 sessions within 2 weeks) but for homeschooling families this could be throughout the school term too.
No prior experience needed. All materials provided.
About the Program
Carve Your Path is a small-group developmental wellbeing program designed for boys aged 9–12.
Blending traditional spoon carving with gentle, guided conversations, this program creates a safe and supportive space for boys to explore:
Confidence and identity
Emotional regulation
Respect, boundaries, and consent
Healthy expressions of masculinity
At this age, boys are navigating big changes—socially, emotionally, and developmentally. This workshop offers a grounded, practical way to support them through this stage, with positive male mentoring and hands-on learning.
A Program in Development
This workshop is currently being offered as a pilot 4-session program.
We’re intentionally keeping this first round small and responsive, which means:
The structure may be refined based on group needs
Future offerings may expand (including programs for older boys and men)
Your feedback will help shape how this evolves within The Village
What Makes This Workshop Different
This isn’t a sit-and-listen program.
Each session uses woodworking as the anchor, allowing conversations to unfold naturally — side by side, without pressure.
Boys will:
Learn safe, supervised carving skills
Build patience, focus, and problem-solving abilities
Develop emotional awareness in a non-confrontational way
Practise respectful communication and decision-making
Take home a handcrafted wooden spoon as a symbol of their growth
Program Overview
Each session builds on the last, supporting both practical skill development and emotional growth.
Session 1 – Foundations: Skill, Safety & Focus
Learning carving basics alongside building trust, group safety, and emotional regulation.
Session 2 – Real Strength & Online Messages
Exploring confidence, media influences, and what “strength” really means.
Session 3 – Consent, Boundaries & Respect
Age-appropriate conversations about respect, personal space, and relationships.
Session 4 – Handling Rejection & Big Feelings
Building resilience, managing emotions, and reflecting on personal growth.
Who This Is For
This program is designed for:
Boys aged 9–12 years
Families wanting to support emotional wellbeing in a practical, engaging way
Boys who may benefit from building confidence, connection, or emotional awareness
Those who learn best through doing, not just talking

The Village Collective Mothers’ Group April
The Village Collective Mothers’ Group
Starts 20 April for 6 weeks.
Biology never intended for us to mother our babies on our own. Mothers deserve to be surrounded by others walking the path of early motherhood - sharing, connecting and supporting.
The Village Mothers’ Groups offer a nurturing and supportive environment for mothers and their babies aged 6 weeks to 9 months.
These six-week programs are designed to foster connection, provide education, and create a sense of community among new mothers.
Program Highlights:
Expert-Led Sessions: Each week features a different practitioner from The Village Collective, covering topics such as baby massage, sleep support, maternal wellbeing, and more.
Community Building: The groups are intentionally kept small (capped at 10 participants) to encourage meaningful connections. A private WhatsApp group is also established for continued support outside of sessions.
Relaxed Environment: Sessions include time for baby play and socialisation, as well as opportunities for mothers to enjoy tea, coffee, and snacks while sharing their experiences.
Holistic Support: The program is facilitated by professionals dedicated to supporting mothers, ensuring a comprehensive approach to early motherhood challenges.
The Village Mothers’ Groups aim to recreate the communal support traditionally found in village settings, recognizing that mothers thrive when surrounded by understanding and shared experiences.
How to Feel Like Yourself Again in Motherhood Workshops April
The essential shifts to reclaim your sense of self, and return to calm, grounded connection.
This is Bree’s core workshop offering - a nourishing, reflective in-person experience designed to help mothers make sense of the inner shifts they’re experiencing as they move beyond the initial phase of motherhood.
As the early intensity of motherhood begins to ease, many women find themselves asking quiet questions about identity, purpose and how they want to live in this next chapter.
These workshop support mothers to understand why they’re feeling the way they do, and why these feelings are a natural part of motherhood - not a personal failing.
Together, participants unpack the subtle stories, expectations and assumptions that can shape motherhood without us realising it and that can pull women away from themselves and from fully enjoying this season. Bree then guides mothers through three identity-led shifts that support a return to calm, clarity and grounded connection - helping them feel more aligned, present and connected to who they are now.
